Milola Meets - Interior Designer Renata Koglin from RK Interiors

At Milola, we believe that design is more than just aesthetics—it’s about storytelling, emotion, and purpose, crafting spaces that feel as good as they look. That's why we were excited to meet Interior Designer Renata Koglin for this month's Milola Meets. She truly believes in influencing well-being through architecture and interior design.
Read on to discover Renata's inspiring journey, signature style and creative influences.
I'm Renata Koglin, the Founder and Lead Designer at RK Interiors. With over 4 years of experience in the interior design industry, I've had the privilege of transforming various residential and commercial spaces.
At RK Interiors, we are pioneers of neuro-architecture and biophilic design in Switzerland—approaches that integrate neuroscience, architecture, and nature to create spaces that enhance well-being, reduce stress, and positively influence emotions and behavior. These principles are essential in today’s fast-paced world, as they help people feel more connected, balanced, and at ease in their environments.
My journey began with a passion for creating spaces that not only look beautiful but also improve the quality of life for those who inhabit them.

“For me, interior design is all about creating spaces that tell a story —spaces that feel good, function beautifully, and truly connect with the people using them.”
TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND AND HOW IT INFLUENCES YOUR APPROACH AND MAKES YOUR WORK AS AN INTERIOR DESIGNER SO SPECIAL?
I come from a background in engineering, management, and multinational project management, which gave me a deep understanding of how spaces impact well-being and functionality. Four years ago, I founded RK Interiors to create thoughtful, harmonious spaces that truly resonate with people.
Drawn to the transformative power of design, I wanted to craft personal, meaningful, and functional environments that enhance everyday life, ensuring every project is both visually appealing and deeply enriching
At the core of everything we do is a deep commitment to creating spaces that are truly meaningful. We don't just design for the sake of aesthetics—we design to connect, inspire, and make people's lives better. My passion is in the details, in making each space feel like it's been crafted specially to each one of my clients.

YOUR STRAPLINE IS “DESIGNING SPACES, CRAFTING STORIES". TELL US MORE ABOUT THIS...
Our strapline,"Designing Spaces, Crafting Stories," embodies our approach. It speaks to the perfect balance between form and function and reflects our belief that every space should tell a story—whether it's bold, understated, or something in between.

WHAT’S YOUR INTERIOR DESIGN PHILOSOPHY?
My philosophy is simple: Design should evoke emotion and be practical. It's about creating spaces that are not only beautiful but also enhance the lives of those who inhabit them.
WOULD YOU SAY YOU HAVE A PARTICULAR STYLE YOU FAVOUR IN YOUR INTERIOR DESIGNS?
I wouldn't say I have one strict style. I think the beauty of interior design lies in its adaptability. I lean towards modern and minimalist designs, but I believe the style of a space should always be a reflection of its purpose and the people using it. It's about creating something that feels authentic.

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR INSPIRATION FROM?
I draw inspiration from everywhere—from nature, travel, art, and even people's stories. I believe that every experience, every interaction, adds a layer of creativity that can be reflected in design.

DO YOU HAVE A STAND-OUT PROJECT YOU’VE WORKED ON?
One of my favorite projects is the Hermance project—a house in Vésenaz, Geneva that felt dark and cold, lacking my client’s personality. Our challenge was to bring warmth, character, and a true sense of home into the space. Through thoughtful material choices, colors, and furnishings, we transformed it into a cozy, inviting environment that truly reflected them. Hearing my client say, “Now, this finally feels like us” was the most rewarding part.

IF YOU COULD GIVE ONE PIECE OF ADVICE TO SOMEONE ABOUT TO RENOVATE THEIR HOME, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
My advice would be to trust the process and make sure you prioritize functionality over aesthetics. It's easy to get caught up in trends, but a space needs to work for you before it can truly inspire you.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE PIECE OF FURNITURE WE OFFER AT MILOLA AND WHY?
One of the most original pieces I admire from Milola is the HENRYGLASS collection. Their glass doors redefine how we perceive and divide spaces, seamlessly blending aesthetics with functionality. The craftsmanship is exceptional, offering a perfect balance between light, transparency, and design innovation. Whether in residential or commercial projects, these doors bring sophistication and a contemporary touch that enhances any space.
